To celebrate all the amazing businesses and incredible individuals short-listed for this years’ Incentive Awards, we will be publishing a series of introductions to each and everyone of them. We would like to introduce McLaren Automotive who have been shortlisted in the Best Recognition and Reward Programme category

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS/YOU

McLaren Automotive is a creator of luxury, high-performance sportscars and supercars. Every vehicle is hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking, Surrey, England. Launched in 2010, the company is now the largest part of the McLaren Group. The company has three defined product families: Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series which are retailed through over 80 retailers in 30 markets around the world.

McLaren is a pioneer that continuously pushes the boundaries. In 1981, it introduced lightweight and strong carbon fibre chassis into Formula 1 with the McLaren MP4/1. Then in 1993 it designed and built the McLaren F1 road car – the company has not built a car without a carbon fibre chassis since. As part of the Ultimate Series, McLaren was the first to deliver a hybrid hypercar, the McLaren P1™ and we continue to innovate with the opening last year our a new £50m McLaren Composites Technology Centre in the Sheffield region that will innovate the next generation of our lightweight carbon fibre chassis. As we move towards 100 per cent hybrid sportscars and supercars under our Track25 business plan, reducing weight will be vital to enabling the vehicle performance that our customers expect of us.

WHAT MAKES YOU/YOUR BUSINESS OUTSTANDING

Our business is outstanding because of our people and the passion, energy and drive they bring to their work. This passion translates into the ground-breaking products they deliver to customers around the world. We apply the same passion and energy to all aspects of our organisation and our clear aim is to be as good at people as we are at cars. This is reflected in many aspects of our people approach and of the incentive schemes we offer.

WHAT’S NEXT ON THE HORIZON FOR YOU/YOUR BUSINESS

As part of our Track25 business plan we strive to create a culture that consciously inspires continuous improvement, innovation, excitement and fun. We will continue to focus on our people approach and bringing to life a culture that sets us apart from others with a strong, defined and inclusive employer brand.
